How I feel is important, so I choose my experiences wisely.

contentAs I go about my daily life, I meet many people.  I choose to be around those who make me feel like I belong, and like I am central to their lives.  Doing so ensures that I mainly encounter positive experiences, which are important to maintaining a healthy mind and body.

I am a good person, I am loved, and I accomplish that by choosing my relationships wisely.  I have no room in my life for relationships that are anything but positive.

Although there are times when things go less smoothly than I would like, I stay in control of my emotions.  I am conscious that the decisions I make ultimately affect my health and physical and mental well-being.  When I stay calm, my day goes much better, I enjoy it, and I feel better overall.

I evaluate circumstances before entering them to protect my mental health.  I am getting stronger all the time, and by choosing my experiences wisely, I am also controlling how I feel.  This is important as I am healing more and more every day with positive choices that I am making.

 Questions to ask yourself:

  1. Whom do I feel good to be around?

  1. Which people and experiences do not contribute positively to my mental health?

  1. When I am faced with a less than satisfactory situation, what can I do to preserve my mental health and a positive outlook on life?
